RAVEN HALFMOON

Born 1991

Raven Halfmoon (Caddo Nation) is from Norman, OK. A current recipient of the prestigious Virginia Groot Fellowship, she attended the University of Arkansas where she earned a double Bachelors Degree in ceramics/painting and cultural anthropology.

Halfmoon focuses on producing a body of work that is reflective of how she feels both as a woman and as an American Indian living in the 21st Century. Her exploration of the ancient legacy of her Caddo tribal heritage, and simultaneous acknowledgment of the modern day is a reflection of her place in today’s society, an interpretation of Caddo culture and an on-going fight to maintain a place for it in today’s world.
